View answerWhile I have responsibility for overall policy and funding in relation to the national roads programme, the construction, improvement and maintenance of individual national roads, is a matter for Transport Infrastructure Ireland under the Roads Acts 1993-2015 in conjunction with the local authorities concerned.
Two similar questions (PQ 6699 & PQ 6799) were recently referred to TII for reply. TII's response, which outlines the role of road authorities, in this case Kerry County Council, in carrying out HD15 High Collision Location reports, has been forwarded to the Questions Office and is available to the Deputy.
