1336. Deputy Lisa Chambers asked the Taoiseach and Minister for Defence if Defence Forces regulations as they currently stand allow for military personnel to contact the Health and Safety Authority directly. [13271/17]
View answerI can confirm that I amended Defence Forces Regulations so that they would meet the provisions of the Protected Disclosures Act 2014. For the purposes of the Act, all members of the Permanent Defence Force and the Reserve Defence Force are deemed to be workers. A protected disclosure can be made by a worker in a number of ways including to a person prescribed to be a recipient of a protected disclosure. The Chief Executive Officer of the Health and Safety Authority is such a recipient.
