Deputy Róisín Shortall asked the Minister for Education and Skills the details of the provision of readers for Irish examinations in the junior and leaving certificate in a situation in which a person with dyslexia has been granted a reader for the English exam but refused for Irish; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The State Examinations Commission has statutory responsibility for operational matters relating to the certificate examinations. The Commission in this regard operates a scheme of Reasonable Accommodations in the Certificate Examinations.
