133. Deputy Carol Nolan asked the Minister for Education and Skills if the CEO of the Teaching Council is entitled to a contract of indefinite duration under the fixed-term work Act 2003; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26129/17]
View answerThe Teaching Council had a concern as to whether the appointment of the Director for a second term would give rise to a contract of indefinite duration. My Department clarified the contractual terms, which provide for a fixed-term contract in the context of the continuation of a secondment arrangement. Subsequently the Council reappointed the Director for a five year fixed-term from 14 May 2017.
