2165. Deputy Pearse Doherty asked the Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government the insurance premiums paid by each local authority in each of the years 2015 and 2016 and to date in 2017 in respect of public liability insurance, in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Details of the insurance premiums paid by each local authority in respect of public liability insurance are a matter for the local authorities concerned. Local authorities are independent in the execution of their powers and the directly elected members are democratically accountable for all expenditure of the authority. The information requested is not available in my Department.
