193. Deputy John Lahart asked the Minister for Education and Skills if the new permanent building for a community college (details supplied) will open in September 2018 as planned; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31090/17]
View answerThe school to which the Deputy refers is at an advanced stage of the tender process. My Department has reviewed the Preliminary Tender Report and has authorised the Design Team to issue a Letter Of Intent to the preferred bidder and subject to no issues arising it is envisaged that the project will commence on site later this year. As the construction period will be 24 months, the project will be scheduled for completion in 2019.
