View answerThe Office of Public Works has statutory responsibility under the National Monuments Acts for the maintenance and management of national monuments in the ownership of the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. Following completion of the essential preservation and protection works approved by the High Court, basic day to day care and maintenance of the buildings has now also been taken over by OPW.
