Deputy Seán Haughey asked the Minister for Education and Skills the assistance given by his Department to students with dyslexia sitting the junior certificate and the leaving certificate State exams; if extra time can be given to these students sitting the exams to complete their papers; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The State Examinations Commission has statutory responsibility for operational matters relating to the certificate examinations. The Commission in this regard operates a scheme of Reasonable Accommodations in the Certificate Examinations.
