429. Deputy Michael McGrath asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade the number of staff in his Department who are suspended from work on full pay; the reason in each case; the length of time in each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [36731/17]
View answerI confirm that there is one such case in my Department. It would not be appropriate for my Department to provide additional details as so doing could potentially identify the individual in question. My Department applies the provisions of Department of Public Expenditure and Reform circulars in relation to disciplinary and underperformance matters including that all civil servants must be treated in a fair and equitable manner in accordance with the principles of natural justice.
