Deputy Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Health if it is the case that children, including those with special needs, who have been attending the ophthalmic clinic in Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar, are now having to travel to Clonbrusk primary care centre, Athlone, for the same procedures; if he will confirm that it is presently not possible to reschedule these ophthalmic appointments to Mullingar hospital; and if his Department has information on the potential loss of ophthalmic doctors at Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
