I enclose a table which sets out the annual maintenance grant allocated to each Mountain Rescue Team by this Department for the past ten years. Mountain Rescue Ireland, the parent body for mountain rescue, also receives an annual development grant currently in the sum of €60,000. Funding needs will be kept under review by the Department. I have no plans to seek the transfer of responsibility for mountain rescue to the Department of Rural and Community Development.
