282. Deputy John Brassil asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform the reason community employment scheme supervisors are required to retire at 66 years of age in view of the fact the State advises that it does not have a role as an employer in this sector and employees are not public servants; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the Deputy points out, the employees concerned are not public servants. Questions relating to the Community Employment scheme and the State pension age should be addressed to my colleague, the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection.
