View answerThe vetting application in the case to which the Deputy refers relates to a person who is in an ongoing process for recruitment to An Garda Síochána. As the Deputy will appreciate, in such cases the Garda Authorities can liaise directly with the applicants in respect of the progress of the recruitment process. The Deputy will be aware also that in respect of recruitment to An Garda Síochána checks secondary to vetting are also required and these can take time to be completed.
