195. Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if officials in his Department are working on the consolidation of the Road Traffic Acts; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [42060/17]
View answerThe consolidation of existing road traffic legislation is a significant project, requiring the allocation of resources specifically to deal with such a project over an estimated two- to three-year period. In light of the fact that my officials are currently working on a number of Bills, most of which are primarily focused on road safety, it is not possible to commence such a consolidation project at this time.
