I am pleased to say that overall funding for services for older people will increase in 2018. We are in a position to further strengthen supports for our older people, particularly to facilitate speedier discharge from acute hospitals over the winter period. The quantum of service to be provided will be outlined in the Health Service Executive's National Service Plan for 2018, which is currently being prepared by the Executive. I will be in a position to update the Deputy on the specifics of the Service Plan when it is finalised.
