54. Deputy Thomas P. Broughan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation if her Department is ensuring that all construction companies pay PRSI and social insurance contributions for all construction employees and that main contractors for State contracts, including PPPs, must be fully legally responsible for those contributions; and if she will make a statement on the matter. My Department does not have any role in ensuring that companies pay PRSI and social insurance contributions for their employees. The Deputy might wish to raise this matter with the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection.
