Deputy Charlie McConalogue asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the status of discussions he has had with his colleague in the Department of Health regarding changes to be introduced in 2018 relating to the fair deal nursing home support scheme; and his plans to cap the current fair deal contribution on farm and business assets at three years. This is a matter for my colleague the Minister for Health Simon Harris TD and while I have not had any specific bilateral meetings with him on this issue, I have raised the matter with him. I welcome any changes that would bring more certainty for farming families in this regard.
