I can confirm that my Department received an application for disability allowance from this gentleman on 8 September 2017. On 9 November 2017 the person concerned was requested to supply supporting documentation required by the deciding officer in order to make a decision on his eligibility, which included a request for original Divorce Papers.

The deciding officer received a letter from this gentleman on 21 November 2017 stating that he had requested a copy of his Divorce Papers from Canada and would submit them and all other information when he has it. If this gentleman does not have the means to obtain the said Divorce Papers we can request that a social welfare inspector establish means and current household composition.

On receipt of this information a decision will be made and the person concerned will be notified of the outcome.

I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
