View answerThe carriage of munitions and dangerous goods in aircraft, similar to other aviation safety matters, is quite rightly highly regulated in national, EU and international law. The internal review of the Air Navigation (Carriage of Munitions of War, Weapons and Dangerous Goods) Order 1973 is currently underway and should be completed in the coming months. There are a number of different issues to be looked at given the passage of time and changes to international law since 1973.
It is not appropriate at this point to speculate on the outcome of the review.
