View answerIn response to the Deputy’s question, I can confirm that this week I have signed the Commencement and Establishment Orders for the National Shared Services Office Act 2017 to take effect from 1 January, 2018. While this Act was passed by the Oireachtas in July, it was considered best that it commence in January to facilitate a smooth separation of the relevant functions from the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform to the new Civil Service Office in line with the budgetary cycles.
