Deputy Shane Cassells asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform the use of external public relations firms employed by his Department in each year since March 2011; the list of uses of the external public relations firm; the internal Department policy with regard to employing external groups; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerIn response to the Deputy’s question, the public relations firms employed by my Department in the period in question are listed in the following table.
I can confirm that the engagement of service providers by my Department is done in line with procurement policy and within the parameters of value for money, with every effort made to minimise costs.
