The legislation under the aegis of this Department consists primarily of the Defence Acts 1954 to 2015. There has been no project undertaken in the years 2007 to 2017 to consolidate these Acts.

In relation to the other Acts under the aegis of this Department, work is underway on the preparation of a Red Cross Bill to update the Red Cross Acts 1938 to 1954. This work is being carried out by the Department's Legislation Branch as part of the duties assigned to that Branch. Records are not maintained in a manner which would facilitate the calculation of the costs of each task undertaken by the Department's Legislation Branch.
