View answerSport Ireland, which is funded by my Department, is the statutory body with responsibility for the development of sport, increasing participation at all levels and raising standards, including the allocation of funding across its various programmes, including the scheme that provides considerable grant funding to the three major field sports (Soccer, Rugby and GAA) in respect of their work to encourage greater underage participation.
I have referred the Deputy's Question to Sport Ireland for direct reply in relation to the amount, date and recipient of each of the youth field sports grants in each of the years an allocation was made since 2000. I would ask the Deputy to inform my office if a reply is not received within 10 days.
