1556. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Rural and Community Development the extent to which he has had discussions with voluntary or statutory bodies throughout the country with particular reference to the need to identify the best way in which he will tackle the issues relevant to his Department. My Department is in ongoing contact with voluntary and statutory bodies under its aegis to identify the most appropriate actions in regard to all issues relevant to the work of the Department. All such bodies were also consulted with, in recent months, as part of the process of drafting my Department's Statement of Strategy.
