205. Deputy Joan Burton asked the Minister for Education and Skills the progress to date with the construction of a school (details supplied) which commenced construction in May 2017; when it is envisaged that construction will be completed; when the new school will be ready for occupation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2988/18]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that phase 1 of the project, the construction of the temporary school and decant has been completed at Mercy Convent, Naas.

Phase 2, demolition of the existing school building and construction of the permanent 32 classroom school recently commenced.

The contract period is 24 months.
