208. Deputy Michael McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Skills the position in relation to an application for an additional ASD class in a school (details supplied) in County Cork. [3044/18]

I wish to advise the Deputy that the National Council for Special Education (NCSE) is responsible for approving special classes.

Should the NCSE approve a special class unit in the school referred to by the Deputy, it would be open to the school to submit an application for additional accommodation should there be a deficit of accommodation.
