As the Deputy may be aware, the recently published National Development Plan (NDP) establishes 4 new funds, one of which is the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund. This envisages €2 billion, under the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government that will support the co-development of the National Planning Framework’s (NPF) growth enablers for the five cities and other large urban centres. Examples of projects that have the potential to receive support under the Fund would include the Waterford North Quays SDZ regeneration project.

Allocation of funding from the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund is a matter for my colleague the Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government.
