View answerMy Department is reviewing the decision to refuse the claim of the person concerned for Carer’s Support Grant. In this regard the Deciding Officer is awaiting a report from a local inspector. The inspector has advised that he will arrange to meet the person concerned within the next week and will furnish a report shortly thereafter. If the outcome of the review is not favourable to the person concerned, her claim will be referred to the Social Welfare Appeals Office for decision of an Appeals Officer.
I hope this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
