193. Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Education and Skills the funding available for heating facilities in schools (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32304/18]
View answerFunding for primary and post-primary schools is dealt with on a per capita basis. The two main grants are the capitation grant to cater for day to day running costs such as heating, lighting, cleaning, insurance, general up-keep etc., and the ancillary services grant to cater for the cost of employing services staff.
Schools are permitted to regard the capitation and ancillary grant as a combined grant.
