Deputy Brendan Howlin asked the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the number of persons and households in receipt of fuel allowance in 2017 and to date in 2018, respectively; the projected number in 2019; the breakdown of recipients by payment scheme; and if she will make a statement on the matter. There was an average of 381,270 households receiving Fuel Allowance during 2017. The 2018 REV estimates provided for an average of 373,910 recipients.

It will take some time to assemble the breakdown of Fuel Allowance recipients by primary scheme. The information will be provided to the Deputy as soon as it is available.
