Deputy Charlie McConalogue asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine further to Parliamentary Question No. 450 of 19 June 2018, the status of an aquaculture licence application by a person (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerAs the Deputy is aware, my Department received an application for an Aquaculture Licence from the person referred to by the Deputy in June 2017.
There were a number of technical and scientific complexities associated with the application which were examined by my Department in conjunction with the Marine Institute. This examination is now complete.
As the application is currently being assessed by my Department in accordance with the statutory process it would not be appropriate for me to comment further pending the conclusion of that process.
