Questions (249)

James Browne

Question:

249. Deputy James Browne asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he is satisfied that when a person's driving ban expires the person's driver licence is only posted on the day the ban is officially ended and consequently the ban is de facto extended by the length of time it takes for the licence to arrive in the post; and if he will make a statement on the matter. This is a matter for the Road Safety Authority. I have referred the question to the Authority for direct reply. I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response is not received within 10 days.

A referred reply was forwarded to the Deputy under Standing Order 42A
