619. Deputy Charlie McConalogue asked the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection when a payment in respect of an illness benefit claim will issue to a person (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [42010/18]

Minister of State at the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection

While the customer concerned has submitted medical certs from her GP, she has not yet submitted an IB1 claim form. As a result, an IB1 claim form has been posted to the customer's home address with a return freepost envelope.

Once received, the claim will be processed and any/all arrears owing will be paid to her as soon as possible.

I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
