View answerAt present, removals of greenhouse gases by forests in Ireland are not linked to meeting our emissions reduction targets up to 2020. In addition, greenhouse gas removals from Irish forests are not included in the Emissions Trading Scheme. Therefore there are no carbon credits associated with forestry that can be traded formally either within Ireland or the EU as a whole.
