One of the functions of my Department is to work with the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment and with Local Authorities to identify and remove any barriers that impact on the roll out of telecommunications infrastructure, including mobile phone and broadband infrastructure, particularly in rural Ireland.

However, my Department has no function in relation to planning applications and my Department is not informed of applications made for mobile phone infrastructure by telecommunications providers.

Full details of my Department's role and work in relation to mobile phone and broadband issues are available on my Department's website at: https://drcd.gov.ie/about/rural/rural-development/mobile-phone-and-broadband-taskforce/.
