Deputy Tony McLoughlin asked the Taoiseach the amount his Department has spent in 2018 on carrying out commissions of investigations and State inquiries as recommended by the independent review mechanism and State tribunals; the number and name of these investigations; and the individual costs of same. My Department has no responsibility in relation to any commissions of investigation, State inquiries or State Tribunals which arose from recommendations of the Independent Review Mechanism. Accordingly, the issue of cost does not arise for my Department.
