238. Deputy Fiona O'Loughlin asked the Minister for Education and Skills if land has been secured for a new school building (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6366/19]
View answerAs the Deputy is aware, my Department recently decided in order to meet future capacity needs across the area, that the school to which the Deputy refers should be replaced and expanded with a new 1,000 pupil school building. A new site will be required for the school and the Department will be liaising with KWETB with a view to the process for identifying a suitable site. Due to commercial sensitivities surrounding site acquisitions in general, I cannot comment further at this point in the process, though I can assure the Deputy that my Department will make every effort to progress the matter.
