79. Deputy John McGuinness asked the Minister for Finance the amount spent on the attempted recovery of assets in eastern Europe, Russia and Ukraine formerly belonging to a group (details supplied); the value of the assets recovered to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11400/19]
View answerI am advised by the Special Liquidators that the information requested is commercially sensitive and that disclosure could have a detrimental impact on the Bank's ability to maximise loan recoveries.
However, I am further advised that the value of assets now under the control of the Special Liquidators in these jurisdictions greatly exceed the costs incurred in recovering them.
As these matters relate to on-going litigation, it would be inappropriate for the Special Liquidators to comment any further.
