View answerThe Irish Nationality and Citizenship Act 1956 (as amended) provides the legal basis for persons seeking to be naturalised and become Irish citizens. There are no immediate plans to amend the Act, however, I am keeping immigration law under review and working with my officials to improve the overall immigration system.
