104. Deputy Robert Troy asked the Taoiseach and Minister for Defence his plans to ensure changes to the current regulations are made which would allow retiring Army personnel to take up roles within other State organisations for which they have suitable qualifications, for example, a trained military paramedic cannot take up a similar role within the HSE. I am unaware of any restrictions in Defence Forces regulations that could prevent a retired Defence Forces paramedic from applying for a position in the HSE.
