147. Deputy Anne Rabbitte asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the number of Garda cars older than five years in each Garda division in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25745/19]
View answerIn accordance with the Garda Síochána Act 2005 as amended, the Garda Commissioner is responsible for managing and controlling the administration and business of An Garda Síochána including the allocation of Garda resources. As such, decisions in relation to the provision and allocation of Garda vehicles across the various Garda divisions are a matter for the Commissioner in the light of identified operational demands. As Minister, I have no direct role in that matter.
I have requested the relevant information from the Commissioner and I will write to the Deputy directly when I receive it.
