618. Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the way in which a person can claim a refund for a cash overpayment for a fare on a bus operated by a company (details supplied); if the company refunds overpayments to either the customer or the NTA; the way in which cash fare overpayments are used; the amount collected in cash fare overpayments since the company began operating services here to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport.

The issue raised is a matter for the National Transport Authority (NTA) and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply.  Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
