Deputy Denise Mitchell asked the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs the number of school completion programmes operating nationally; the number of staff employed in the scheme on a full-time, part-time and sessional basis in tabular form; and if she will make a statement on the matter. View answerThe School Completion Programme is a core programme under the DEIS programme and is one of three service strands under Tusla’s Educational Welfare Services (EWS) providing direct interventions to children and young people. Each year since the programme transferred to Tusla in 2014, €24.7 million in funding has been allocated to the School Completion Programme projects nationally. There are 124 SCPs currently operating nationally.
The following table sets out the number of staff employed in SCPs .Figures are based on the most recent plans submitted by the 124 SCP’s.
