As Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport, I have responsibility for policy and overall funding in relation to public transport. My Department has allocated €287 million in public service obligation (PSO) funding to the National Transport Authority for 2019. It is the NTA's statutory responsibility to allocate this funding to the transport operators, and it does this in accordance with the contractual arrangements that it has in place with the individual service providers.

I have, therefore, forwarded the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive responses within ten working days.

A referred reply was forwarded to the Deputy under Standing Order 42A
