Deputy Tony McLoughlin asked the Minister for Finance if he will consider the importance of the road haulage industry to Ireland, the worrying effects Brexit will have on this industry and the implications of a carbon tax on this industry when considering its introduction in Budget 2020; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As the Deputy will be aware, it is a longstanding practice of the Minister for Finance not to comment, in advance of the Budget, on any tax matters that might be the subject of Budget decisions.
