Deputy Charlie McConalogue asked the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation if her Department has examined the proposal to ban the below-cost selling of agricultural produce including beef; and the way in which this could be achieved with existing national and EU legislation. I understand that a proposal to ban the below cost selling of agricultural produce including beef was submitted by the IFA to the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine. Consequently, the Deputy’s question is a matter for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
