514. Deputy Paul Murphy asked the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment the number of persons employed in fossil fuel extraction and energy production. [47202/19]
View answerAccording to Ireland's Ocean Economy Report published in June 2019, direct employment in the Irish oil and gas exploration and production sector in 2018 was 154 full time equivalent employees. The report states that the sector is concentrated in the coastal regions of Donegal, Mayo, Cork, Kerry, Galway and the South East.
