Deputy Paul McAuliffe asked the Minister for Health if statistics on the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases among direct provision residents include reception centres such as Baleskin; if not, if such centres can be included in statistics going forward; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerBoth my Department and the HSE are committed to protecting the identity and medical confidentiality of direct provision residents, as required by law, and therefore do not give specific information about individuals or locations. Information on cases or outbreaks of any illness (COVID-19 or otherwise) is provided only if there is a public health reason to do so.
