110. Deputy Ged Nash asked the Minister for Finance the estimated revenue that would be raised from a reduction in the thresholds for capital acquisitions tax on inheritance and gifts to €280,000 for group A, €30,000 for group B and €15,000 for group C, respectively; the estimated revenue that would be raised at these new thresholds from increasing the rate of the tax applied at these thresholds at percentage rates (details supplied), in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am advised by Revenue that the costs of various changes to Capital Acquisition Tax (CAT) thresholds and rates are published on pages 15-16 of the Revenue Ready Reckoner which is available at link: https://www.revenue.ie/en/corporate/documents/statistics/ready-reckoner.pdf.

While the exact changes proposed by the Deputy are not all included, they can be extrapolated on a straight line or pro-rata basis from those shown.
