View answerThe transfer by a data controller of personal data, including genetic data, outside the European Economic Area (EEA) is permitted subject to the provisions of Chapter 5 of the GDPR (Transfers of personal data to third countries or international organisations). The EEA encompasses the Member States of the EU plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. The question of compliance with the provisions in any particular case is for the Data Protection Commission.
